The Canadian Newspaper Project

Community newspaper publishers across Canada are trying to craft strategy for Internet news distribution in the face of new business models and changing readership demographics. This project will define current and future practice of electronic news distribution at Canadian newspapers.

Invitations were been sent to publishers in every province and territory of Canada, and sixty five responses were received, representing approximately eight per cent of newspapers in the CCNA membership. If you were one of the respondents, thank you!

The project has now entered the second phase of research, in which the results will be analyzed, and follow-up interviews will be conducted.

I anticipate that the condensed survey results will be published here in early January.
